Why Didn't I Receive the Latest Blog Post?

Here's how to subscribe and what to check if notifications aren't reaching your inbox

We recently heard from a few readers who didn't receive email notifications of a new SCGS blog post. While blog notifications are sent automatically to subscribers, there are several reasons they may not reach every inbox every time.

If you'd like to receive notifications when new posts are published, be sure you're subscribed through the SCGS website.

If you're subscribed but aren't receiving notifications, check the following:

  • Look in your spam, junk, or promotions folder. Have you looked lately? There's some good stuff you might be missing that's lurking among the "junk".

  • Verify that your email address is current and entered correctly.

  • Make sure you haven't previously unsubscribed from SCGS emails.

  • Check whether your email provider may be filtering or blocking automated messages.

  • Open any recent SCGS notification emails you may have missed. Some automated systems stop sending notifications to subscribers who haven't opened them for an extended period.

If you've tried these steps and still aren't receiving notifications, please contact SCGS, and we'll be happy to help troubleshoot the issue.

Don't want to miss future articles, announcements, and research tips? Look for the Subscribe box on the SCGS Blog homepage and sign up for automatic notifications whenever a new post is published.

Thank you for following the SCGS Blog and supporting our genealogy community.

Checking spam folders and verifying email subscriptions alongside a handy wirefillchart tracking missed blog alerts would make troubleshooting missing SCGS posts far simpler for new genealogy readers.

Great list of gifts for genealogy fans! I love the DNA kits and scanners you mentioned. When I need a fun break, I jump into a quick stickman crazy box game—it’s a cool way to relax between research sessions.
