Updated: Dec 10, 2024

Editor's Note: Louise Ratliff was elected President of the Southern California Genealogical Society Board of Directors in January of 2024. Louise has been on the Board of Directors, is a longtime member of SCGS, and is active on the Library Ops committee.

Dear SCGS Members,

As I reflect on another year of our shared journey in genealogical research, I am filled with gratitude for each of you. Your continued membership and support have kept our beloved Society thriving through 2024, allowing us to preserve and share the precious histories of our diverse families.

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to our incredible volunteers who form the backbone of SCGS. Whether leading our diverse interest groups, staffing our library, providing invaluable research assistance, or serving on our Board of Directors–your dedication and expertise make everything we do possible. Every hour you give enriches our community and advances our mission.

As a nonprofit organization, SCGS exists because of you–our members. Your membership dues, participation, and generous support enable us to maintain our resources, expand our programs, and continue serving as a vital hub for family historians. In today's challenging environment for nonprofit organizations, your commitment to SCGS means more than ever.

Each time I walk into our library or join an interest group meeting, I'm reminded of the special community we've built together. Thank you for being part of our genealogical family and for helping ensure that future generations will have access to the invaluable resources and support that SCGS provides.

With sincere appreciation,

Louise Ratliff

President, Southern California Genealogical Society

Fast reflexes, precise movement, and patience in bad time simulator are essential to survive escalating patterns, intense music, and Sans’s witty taunts throughout the fight.

This one slipped into my phone during a lazy Sunday and somehow stayed. Pixel Flow has a nice thing going where the visual reward is instant but the strategic reward takes a few runs to notice. Once I started recognizing how the layered voxel boards were built and why certain colors needed to be opened first, I got properly hooked. Before that it was just “nice popping blocks.”

This game feels like a typical casual multiplayer game. It’s easy to pick up and play. I like how quick the matches are. Sometimes it gets repetitive after a while. Also noticed a few bugs here and there. Not a big deal, but still needs fixing. I don’t play it seriously, just for time pass. It’s fine for that purpose.

Looking back at Retro Bowl 26 the activities — from webinars, classes, to annual events — helps to clearly see SCGS's efforts in supporting the community of people interested in genealogy and family history.
