First Up: Diana Crisman Smith

Genealogist Diana Crisman Smith will present "I Know She’s Out There Somewhere! Finding Female Ancestors" on Saturday, August 10, at 1 p.m. PDT. Have you noticed it's often a challenge to find information on your female ancestors? They make up at least half of our family trees! Diana will share processes for finding them—or at least locating the breadcrumbs that you'll need to hunt for them more effectively. She'll also discuss some of the red herrings you may encounter and what to do about them.

About Diana

Diana has researched her ancestry since age 10. She has been a genealogical researcher, writer, speaker, and teacher since the 1980s. She and her husband enjoyed serving as lay librarians at the Westlake, Ohio, Family History Center (now FamilySearch Center) for over 20 years. Diana has presented genealogical lectures and webinars to large and small audiences throughout the United States and on genealogy cruises.

Next Up: Jane Neff Rollins

Don't go anywhere, because at 2:15 p.m. PDT, genealogist Jane Neff Rollins, starting at 2:15 p.m.: "Let No (Wo)Man Put Asunder Researching Ancestors Who Divorce."

In an ideal world, marriages last until "death us do part." But in the real world, divorces happen, then and now. In her presentation, Jane will explore the various documents that provide evidence that a divorce occurred. As a case study, Jane will use her Great-Aunt Jeannette, who was married at least three times.
