Learn the Fascinating History of the 'Monuments Men'
During World War II, the Monuments Men were a group of art historians, museum professionals, archivists, and other specialists who worked to protect Europe’s cultural heritage and recover art, books, archives, and other treasures the Nazis stole. Their efforts helped preserve not only important works of art, but also the history and stories of the families and communities from whom these treasures were taken. In her virtual presentation, Speaker Annette Unrau will explore their remarkable story and its connections to history and genealogy.
