About the Webinar
Many of us avoid sensitive topics when composing family stories. It's not that we want to hide the truth; rather, we're not sure how to write about it. This session provides practical strategies for approaching difficult chapters of the family history with honesty and sensitivity. Learn research and documentation techniques for conflicting perspectives, guidelines for writing about living people, securing permissions, principles of trauma-informed writing, and tone/language choices that maintain accuracy while respecting dignity. We'll also address common ethical dilemmas. Learn to craft engaging, historically accurate family narratives that promote understanding of family members and the times in which they lived.
