About the Event
The Southern California Genealogical Society and the Nikkei Genealogical Society featured an online presentation, "A-Files and C-Files for 20th Century Immigrants to the U.S.," by Linda Harms Okazaki on March 23 at 1 p.m.
What are A-files? Does your 20th-century immigrant have one? Why or why not? If so, where is it located? If they don’t have an A-file, do they have a C-file? This informative presentation introduced you to A-files, C-files, and other records held in the genealogy program at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services or the National Archives. Linda Harms Okazaki is a professional genealogist, a Nikkei Genealogical Society charter member and co-founder, and a past president of the California Genealogical Society. She specializes in Japanese American records. To RSVP and to request the Zoom links for our virtual events, please email info@nikkeigenealogicalsociety.org
Nikkei Genealogical Society meetings are open to everyone and are free to attend. Proposed case studies, research questions, and/or requests to present on a special topic may be submitted in advance. Any questions may also be directed to info@nikkeigenealogicalsociety.org
