About the Event
"An Introduction to 20th Century Immigrants to the U.S." will be presented online by Linda Harms Okazaki on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. This very basic class will introduce you to a complex subject: learning about laws and events that impacted 20th-century immigration to the U.S. from the Pacific and the Atlantic through Canada and Mexico. Basic records will be reviewed. The online presentation is suitable for beginners.
Linda Harms Okazaki is a professional genealogist, a Nikkei Genealogical Society charter member and co-founder, and a past president of the California Genealogical Society. She specializes in Japanese American records. The Nikkei Genealogical Society (aka NikkeiGen) is a group that provides opportunities to collaborate, research, and network with others interested in discovering their Japanese roots.
The Nikkei Genealogical Society's mission is to promote, encourage, and share Nikkei genealogy through education, research, and networking.
