Amy Wachs: "Tracing Your Eastern European Roots"

Have you found it frustrating to research ancestors from Eastern European countries? Genealogist Amy Wachs explores the challenges of tracing Eastern European ancestry by providing an overview of how key historical events changed borders and influenced migration and the availability of records. Amy shares historical maps and offers guidance in using the countries' history and geography to help fill in gaps and move past those brick walls. She'll show you ways to identify ancestors, find the locations they lived, and trace their migrations. 

Past president of the Jewish Genealogy Society of Cleveland, Amy Wachs has been involved in Jewish genealogy for more than 30 years and currently serves on the Board of LitvakSIG, Inc. A retired attorney, she taught law in Latvia as a Fulbright Scholar and in Moldova as a Fulbright Senior Specialist.
