Join us for a SCGS Webinar with Diane L. Richard presents "Women's Clubs: Empowering Female Ancestors to Create Lasting Impact in Their Communities".

Before and after the 19th Amendment passed, women’s clubs, regardless of race and financial circumstances, were and continue to be an important community resource. They empowered women to have a voice, to provide needed community services, and to advocate for universal rights. Separate race-based clubs existed until the 1960s. We’ll discuss their parallel histories & the national organizations that arose. We’ll explore how we can identify these clubs and any surviving records that genealogists can investigate.
