The Southern California Genealogical Society's German Interest Group hosts genealogist Milan Pohontsch on Saturday, May 16, at its hybrid meeting held online and at the SCGS Family Research Library in Burbank. Milan will virtually present "How East Germany Generated Hard Currency." The meeting will be held from 1 to 3:50 p.m. PDT.
About Milan
Milan Pohontsch is a full-time professional genealogist. As a native of Germany, he has excellent language and communication skills for conducting research in the region. While a young man, he discovered and fell in love with what is now his vocation—genealogy. Later, he became head of a genealogical research center in Germany. Milan also served as an expert for the International Reference Counter in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and has cataloged microfilms in the LDS Church Office Building.
