Writers Group Meeting

If you could travel back in time, what ancestor would you want to interview, to ask those still unsolved questions? If your life were a movie, what would you title it? How did you get your name?

These are a few of the topics we've recently used in our writing. We've discussed interesting books we've found, shared research discoveries, brought family books we've written or are working on. We've learned how to use imagination as well as research of political history, social customs, even world-affecting weather events to make our ancestors come alive in our tales. We've discussed writing techniques–how to find and develop a theme, how to add details to catch the reader's interest and how to tighten or expand our writing.
