SCGS Y-DNA PROJECT RESULTS

This view of results for our SCGS DNA Project is from the Family Tree DNA public website. This format allows you to see all your matches within this project even those with different surnames. Please be patient as it might take one or two minutes to download it because of its size.

Y Results: Only males can test Y-DNA which is passed from father to son.  The results are shown in haplotype order with tests identified by kit number and surname of the male tester. If the tester has entered information on their most distant male ancestor of their surname, more details information on the ancestry is shown.

mt Results: Both males and females can test mtDNA which is passed from mother to all children, but cannot be passed on by males.  The results are shown in haplotype order with tests identified by kit number.  Since female surnames change with each generation, the tester must enter information on their most distant female ancestor to have a name shown.
