The SCGS is proud to support the efforts of several special interest groups that have found our Family Resource Library to be the perfect enviornment to further their studies and educate their group members. All groups are free and open to the public. Meeting times and dates are subject to change.

GENERAL INTEREST GROUPS
Lunch and Learn - meets 2nd Saturday of every month from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

Free and open to the public, Lunch and Learn is a core program offered by SCGS consisting of a 2-hour presentation by a guest lecturer. Guests are welcome to bring their lunch and learn more about family research.
SCGS Writers Group - meets once a month on 2nd Sundays.
Sunday: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

SCGS Writers Group focuses on historical and family related writings. This group contributes articles of interest to our SCGS publication, The Searcher. They sponsor the annual GENEii Writer's Contest and the winning submissions that are published online and in The Seacher.

DNA Interest Group - meets 5th Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The DNA Interest group works with DNA technology to advance family history research in this growing field. Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) Project Administrators and/or Project Co-administrators are invited to remain following the main meeting (generally from 2:00-4:00 p.m.) to discuss how they are managing group projects. A Roundtable format allows people to share expertise and find solutions to issues.
