The Chinese Family History Group of SoCal meets to help anyone
on a quest to trace his or her Chinese-American ancestors. While they work on
their individual research, they also gather information and resources particular
to those working on their Chinese family histories. In addition to assessing
traditional genealogical sources of information for relevance, the Chinese Family
History Group of SoCal group are looking at sources of information particular
to their roots, such as backgrounds on family surnames, maps of common ancestral
areas, Exclusion Act records, specific questions for oral interviews based on
specific historical research, and local sources of information as yet untapped.
