Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery is located in the foothills south of the city limits of Lompoc in Santa Barbara County, California. The headstones in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery were originally read in 1944 by the Ladies' Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were never published.

In the 1960s, SCGS member Thelma Lewis compiled the records. The entries were serially published, from January-November 1966, in the SCGS's journal, The Searcher. Ms. Lewis made the statement in her introduction that in 1944, many of the headstones had been unreadable, but were in better shape 1966.

This directory includes the headstone readings from 1944, amended for errors and expanded to include information from other sources, including the California Death Index, the United States Census reocrds, and other available records for Santa Barbara County, California.
