Pam Wiedenbeck
Having worked for multiple clients in the Information Technology area for over twenty-five years, Pam is a veteran project manager experienced in handling projects of all sizes, as well as training the next generation of project managers. She is currently the founder and president of Plans Made Perfect, a company dedicated to training project managers. Pam has been a member of SCGS for nine years. She is an active participant in the French Canadian Heritage Society of California, a volunteer librarian, and co-chair of the Jamboree Committee. She served on the Board of Directors for St. Phillip the Apostle School in Pasadena for six years and was a member of the Finance committee for two years prior to being elected to the board.

Paula Hinkel - 1st Vice President
A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Paula has lived in Southern California since 1997. A marketing research professional for over twenty years, she received a BA in business management through Sioux City’s Briar Cliff Weekend College program. As an offshoot of her interest in computers, genealogy and obituaries, Paula developed the SoCal Obituaries website to help genealogists locate obituary resources in Southern California. She is an avid photographer and has posted over 16,000 photos on the FindAGrave and Iowa Gravestone project websites. Since joining SCGS in 2002, she has worked on the 1890 Project, designed and edits the revamped SCGS website, served as co-chair of the Society's annual Genealogy Jamboree, and served on the Editorial Board of The Searcher. She has held several offices, including a one-year term as president. She's an avid social networker and can be found on Facebook, GenealogyWise and Twitter (scgsgenealogy). Whenever possible, she visits her family in Iowa, including her mother, a brother and his family, and her daughter and three grandchildren. Joan Philips - 2nd Vice President
Joan is an active member of the French-Canadian Research team and has taken the lead in building the French-Canadian database. A member of the Board of Directors since 2009, Joan oversees the microfilm services through the SCGS designation as a FamilySearch Center.
 
Alice Fairhurst - Recording Secretary
Born in Alhambra, California and a resident of Covina for more than 50 years, Alice M. Fairhurst has been a genealogy researcher for over 40 years and serves on the SCGS Board of Directors as Recording Secretary and is currently editor of The Searcher. Her areas of specialty outside of the US are Canada and Scotland. She is also involved with the French Canadian Heritage Society. She is currently the DNA Interest Chair and organizer of the DNA Administrators Roundtable. She is the administrator of the SCGS DNA Project and chair or co-chair on thirteen other DNA projects. A charter member of the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG), she chairs the international group that keeps the YSNP tree up-to-date. A retiree from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, she served as Career Development and Mentoring Coordinator. A published author in the field of personality styles and teaching/learning styles, she has spoken on these topics plus DNA, managing creativity, organizational development, and career management at conventions in various sites in the US, Canada, and Britain. She has been awarded the Boy Scouts' Silver Beaver, the Honorary PTA Life Membership, and the CampFire Wakan Award for Service. Alice Fairhurst
Louise Calaway - Treasurer
Bitten by the Genealogy “bug” in 1977, after watching Alex Haley’s Roots, Louise Calaway began researching both her and her husband’s family history.  Along the way, she discovered her connection to Mayflower Descendants and a gggg grandfather who bequeathed $1/each to his six adult children, with the bulk of his estate going to his housekeeper and her three children.  Born in Illinois, Louise moved to California in 1959 with her new husband who was a student at Cal Tech.  Settling in Sierra Madre in 1962, she and Ward raised two children, Charles and Laura.  She is a Charter member of the Sierra Madre Chapter of Rotary International and has been its Treasurer for more than 10 years.  Louise also sits on the Boards of Directors of the Sierra Madre Playhouse and the Sierra Madre Pioneer Cemetery Association.  With an eye for detail and penchant for perfection, Louise approaches her duties as Jamboree Registrar, 1890 Project Chair, Co-Chair of the Indexing Committee, and member of the Long-Range Planning Committee, with the same enthusiasm and zeal that has made her a successful CPA. Louise has spearheaded the SCGS publication program for the past few years and oversees the Century Club. Charlotte Bocage
Charlotte M. Bocage has over forty years of genealogy experience. She lecturers locally and throughout the nation specializing in Louisiana research. A member of the SCGS Board of Directors, the Program chair for Jamboree, and the Education Committee chair where she saw a need and initiated the Kids Family History Camp. Charlotte also coordinates the Lunch and Learn programs, and is a librarian on Wednesday.  She has been there to stuff bags for Jamboree and to provide tours of our library for Open House. She says that she enjoys the work she provides to our members.

Marva Grove
Marva is a native of Nebraska. She has lived in California since 1954 and became a member of SCGS in 1973. She is a member of several genealogical societies including Society of Mayflower Descendants, DAR, where she is treasurer of her Chapter, and several surname associations. During her years at SCGS she has been a Workshop Leader, Volunteer Librarian, Chairman of the Nebraska Table at Jamboree and is currently member of the Long Range Planning Committee, the Book Selection Committee and the Operations Committee.

Jay Holladay
A native Californian with Southern roots, Jay has always enjoyed hearing family tales from his kinfolk. He began serious research on his family history after attending the 1993 Jamboree and joined the SCGS shortly thereafter. Jay has presented lectures and workshops on Kentucky research and on using computers and the Internet for genealogy research. He currently leads the SCGS Information Technology Team and the RootsMagic User Group. He has been a Board member since 2008 and also serves on the Long-Range Planning Committee. He retired in 2001 after a 45-year career at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he worked mainly in the area of ground systems and data processing for JPL space missions.

Terry McVeigh, a native of Brooklyn, New York, now resides in the home of the Southern California Genealogical Society - Burbank, California. A first-generation child of Irish immigrants, most of her family research centers on Ireland and New York. Her mother and father were from the counties of Leitrim and Tyrone, respectively. Terry has a Masters Degree from California State University, Los Angeles. After spending many years working in law firms in both New York and California, she presently teaches in the Los Angeles Unified School District. While building her family tree during the last ten years, she has been involved in various activities of the Society, including working as a librarian.  Terry also belongs to the British Isles Family History Society.

Leo Myers
Leo was raised in the San Fernando Valley in a house that his parents built with their own hands. He was an auditor for the Ralphs Grocery Company for over twenty years and is currently semi-retired and working part-time for FedEx. His grandmother got him started in genealogy when she gave him a chest full of old photos when he was eight. Leo is the Chairman of the Society's very successful annual conference, the Genealogy Jamboree. He is married to Cindy and has two grown boys, Matt and Brian.

Marge Rossini
Marge was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, but her roots are planted in Ireland. She has a certificate in library technology from Pasadena City College and works in Tech Services at Covina Public Library. She began volunteering two years ago on the 1890 Project shortly after she joined the SCGS. This was followed by volunteer work as a librarian, as a member of the Long Range Planning Committee and as the person who repairs our library’s books. She also organizes Irish workshops. Marge has lived in Pasadena since she married Gene 38 years ago. They have two sons, Matt and Kevin, and two granddaughters, Eireann and Cairenn, to carry on the Irish tradition.

Heidi Ziegler
Heidi is a native Virginian but has long since converted to the SoCal way of life. Heidi also lived in Strasbourg and Paris, France, learning French along the way. By trade Heidi is a engineer and manages technology development projects at her day job. Some of her genealogy research successes include determining the North Brabant village of her Dutch ancestors; locating distant Dutch-related cousins living in Germany and meeting them in the Netherlands; finding an 8th cousin; and locating 12 “long lost” paternal 2nd cousins which Heidi and her dad met at a Summer reunion in Wisconsin. In 2008, Heidi published a book on the immigration of her paternal German branches using Ancestry’s MyCanvas. Other research areas of interest include the Civil War, French Canadian, British, and Michigan heritage and history. Peggy Schulz - Financial Secretary
Peggy is a native daughter, although she spent most of her school years in Houston. Her mother's family came to California in 1916 and her father's family came in 1914. She has been doing genealogy for nearly 40 years, during which time she has traveled to many states, as well as to England and Germany in this pursuit. She joined the Southern California Genealogical Society in 1983. During the years since joining she has been Volunteer Coordinator, Library Volunteer, Financial Secretary,  Mailing Coordinator, plus taking care of shipping the orders for materials which come by post or the shopping cart at our web site, helping with maintaining our supply of books to sell, and teaching the use of our cash registers. For the past few years she has also been active in helping with Jamboree registration, and working the cash registers at the Jamboree Registration table and Sales table. Peggy has been instrumental in compiling and producing several publicatons, including cemetery and death record indices and a family history book. She was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Houston, lived briefly in Gardena, and has lived in Sherman Oaks for 43 years. Her daughters and their families are in Pasadena and Glendale, and her son lives in Oakland. Her favorite pastimes are genealogy, genealogy and genealogy! Fran Bumann - Corresponding Secretary
Fran Bumann is a native of Los Angeles, born to parents who were also Los Angeles natives.  She's began family research over 40 years ago so she could learn about those "cowboy" ancestors.   Fran is a graduate of Cal State Northridge with a degree in cultural anthropology.  She has worked over the years in both the education and investment fields.  She has been married to Virg, an aerospace engineer for 45 years and they have a son Eric and a daughter Tamara.  Family history pursuits have taken her across the U.S. and Canada as well as to Scotland, Wales and Germany.  In the course of her 40 year membership in SCGS she has volunteered in many capacities and is currently coordinator of the Research Team. As Director of the Society's US Research Team, Fran provides professional genealogical services on behalf of the Society. As corresponding secretary, she keeps the email in-box cleaned out and responds to queries from our patrons and members. She is also a member of the Book committee. In the past, Fran has served as librarian, has worked on the membership team, served on the Board of Directors and held the offices of Recording Secretary and Treasurer.
