You Made My Day

The SCGS Board is pleased to announce its Volunteer Recognition Program, "You Made My Day."

Literally anyone associated with SCGS -- library patrons, at-distant website and research team users, SCGS volunteers -- can participate in this program.

"You Made My Day" provides a method for our volunteers to receive well-deserve pats on the back.

The next time you're at the SCGS Family Research Library, fill out a "You Made My Day" card and drop it in the fishbowl in the entry way to the Library. You can also email it or snail-mail it to the SCGS Library;

3.  You can sign your name, or you can choose to be anonymous.
4.  Provide immediate feedback
5.  Handwritten notes are best, but email is fine too.  - send to scgs@scgsgenealogy.com with a subject line of "You Made My Day"

Terry McVeigh.  Thank you for compiling the hotel list for the Jamboree website.  It's great to know that you're here to depend on.   Paula

Terry McVeigh.  You made my day one day last month when one of my librarians called me about 8:00 a.m. to say she could not make it that day.  As a last resort before closing the library I called you in case you were not at your job that day.  It turned out that you were home and you agreed to come in - so very last minute - instead of putting away your Christmas decorations.  Thank You a million times!  Marva Grove 2/27/09

Linda Golovko.  You made my day the day I asked if you had thought over taking on my job as volunteer coordinator and you said - I'm still considering it and then said Okay!  I'll just do it.  Wow!  Talk about Oh Happy Day!!  Thanks Linda.  Marva Grove.

Lloyd Jennings, thank you for your hears of service as our printer.  It's a difficult job and you have been a diligent and conscientious volunteer, helping us get the word out to support our many activities.  Paula.

Alice Fairhurst, for very energetic and positive leadership of the DNA interest group.  Bonny Cook.

Lanelle, Jay, Dick, Tom and the rest of the IT Team - Thank you for all the work you are putting into getting the website back online and the revamped membership database running.   Paula

Louise Calaway, there isn't enough room on the YMMD card, or hours in the day, to thank you for all you do for SCGS.  Indexing, publications, Jamboree registration, Century Club, financials, website, Searcher, the list goes on and on and on.  You are a quiet miracle and "Thank you" just doesn't seem like enough.   Paula

Lee Archer, Thank you so much for taking down and putting up the bookcases after the November rains in time for the Annual Meeting. Ann Cowley.

The entire Thursday crew of volunteers who are always ready to take on extra needed chores, including the ballot counting. This is in addition to their "regular" jobs of cataloging, shelving, binding of books; assisting patrons with research, etc.  Great team!  Fran

Lee Archer, you do a fabulous job of keeping the library facility kept up.  I've seen you doing so many maintenance jobs and then the massive job on the bookcases when we had the flood. You're an unsung hero. Alice Fairhurst.

Linda Mustion has made my day several times.  I am not familiar with the programs on our computers.  Linda really knows them and has given me instruction.  I couldn't have done it without her.  She is always cheerful and friendly.  Thanks, Linda.  Jacquie Meyer

Leo Myers, what would we do without you?  You do so much work for Jamboree and for the library in general. Good thing we've got a super salesman like you!  Alice Fairhurst.

You Made My Day Lin LaRochelle.  The number of hours you have given to reorganize the supplies and paperwork and other materials for the library has made a massive improvement.  You're an organizing genius! Also your chairing of the Long Range Planning Committee will give our organization a more promising future. Alice Fairhurst.

I thanks Sally Emerson (Thursdays) for answering my endless questions. ____ Jones.

Thanks for all your help with my Blackwell genealogy. (anonymous)

Marva Grove, Without all of your work to keep the facility operating and staffed with volunteers, we'd be hard-pressed to keep our library working.  You're invaluable!  Alice Fairhurst.

Paula - Thank you!  Your Iowa "Maid-Rites" at the annual potluck Made My Day!  Luciann.

You've Made My Day Pam Wiedenbeck.  You've been a great president. I've enjoyed working with you on the Board.  You've helped to keep our society moving forward and remaining healthy.  Alice Fairhurst.

To Charlotte Bocage, for your untiring efforts on behalf of SCGS - all over the area, state and nation.  We benefit greatly from your dedication.  Thanks.  Dennis McCargar.

To Paula Hinkel and Leo Myers:  For their efforts to remake the Jamboree into a nationally recognized event.  In the process, they have inspired and energized many SCGS members.  Thank you, Vieve Metcalfe.

Jay [Holladay], thank you for stepping up to handle the work with the contractor and landlord re the water damage and for keeping the Board updated.  Great work!  Paula

To Lee Archer - You Made My Day when I called to ask you about taking down the bookcases that were in the water damage area.  You said no problem.  And then you were available again on short notice to put them up again.  Thanks so much.  Marva.

Paula Hinkel, What a great communicator, hard worker you are! I love your enthusiasm and sense of humor.  We owe you a lot for everything - especially Jamboree - a full time job!  Alice Fairhurst.

Dear Ann Cowley, Thank you so much for helping me in so many ways at the Appraisal Faire.  I am so fortunate to have you in my life.  Lynn Poole.

Lee Archer, Thank you so much for your efforts in reinstalling the book cases and helping the library recover from our flooding problem. You are always there to install another network cable or a needed shelf.  December 13, 2008.  Jay Holladay and the computer team.

Marva Grove - For her cheerful, unselfish self.  Terry McVeigh.

Thanks, John [Poole] for the hearty clam chowder all these years.  Thanks Beverly [Truesdale] for all beginning classes and the states and countries info sheets, especially on Missouri.  Thanks again.  E. R.
