Online Resources Available to Members at the SCGS Library

Recent upgrades to the patron computers make it even more convenient to conduct online searches at the SCGS Library. Now equipped with 19" monitors and new systems, the Society's computer capabilities continue to be improved and updated to meet our members' needs. Our high-speed Internet access makes those searches go much more quickly. In addition, members with wireless laptop computers can jump on the Society's wireless Internet access for free.

SCGS is committed to providing its members with access to the ever-growing wealth of online genealogical resources in addition to its collection of books, publications, maps, CDs and other reference materials.  Members who make an in-person visit to the SCGS Library will have access to a number of fee-based online databases at no charge.

We know that we could have many more users if we offered remote access to these databases from our members' homes. Unfortunately, with the sole exception of NewspaperARCHIVE, the owners of the content of these databases prohibit us from making these available except onsite at the Library. At-home access to NewspaperARCHIVE is available SCGS members.
