David J. Armstrong is a retired teacher and professional genealogist specializing in researching historical records and combining these records using technology so that he is able to gain a better understanding of the lives of those who have come before.
David taught high school mathematics in Huntington Beach, California for 37 years. Besides teaching mathematics he occasionally taught computer programming, David was responsible for training teachers in the use of computers from as early as 1980 up to the time he retired.
He was a co-chairperson of a Golden State Examination committee responsible for creating and scoring statewide testing. He has presented at conferences for math teachers and was his district’s Teacher of the Year in 2009.
This background served David well as he has transitioned to a full-time genealogist. He gives genealogical presentations to local and regional societies and conferences. He experiences the same joy in teaching genealogists something new as he did in teaching mathematics.
