How to Join the French Canadian Heritage Society of California (FCHSC)

Although the use of the library of the Southern California Genealogical Society (SCGS) is free to the public because it is a non-profit organization we encourage all members of our group to join the Society. The dues help to pay the rent and to buy new books. As a member of the SCGS you will receive:

  • Four issues of the Society's award-winning research and family history journal, The Searcher

  • In-library use of high-speed Internet to access genealogical websites such as Ancestry and Footnote

  • Significant cost savings on Jamboree registration

  • Reduced pricing on DNA testing

  • User groups for the most popular genealogy software programs

  • In-library wireless Internet for laptop computers

  • Two queries per year published in The Searcher

  • Research Team assistance to help break down those brick walls

  • Discount on books from the genealogical bookstore and the online shopping cart

We try to include the activities of the FCHSC in The Searcher and in The News & Notes.
