Jamboree Reviews from the GenBloggers
George G. Morgan, in an article written for Dick Eastman's newsletter http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2008/07/logging-your-fa.html
"Last weekend I attended one of the best conferences in the United States. It was the Southern California Genealogical Society's annual Jamboree in Burbank, California. The spirit of volunteerism is alive and well there, and the society members made every one of the attendees feel welcome and appreciated. There was literally something for everyone in every lecture time period. The vendor exhibit hall had all manner of software, books, maps, magazines, Internet databases and social networks, and so much more.
The work on the part of the SCGS members made everything seem to flow very well indeed. I heartily recommend this conference to anyone who can get there next year..."

Okay it's not exactly a review but it's Megan's inside story of the infamous "My mic just slid into my pants!" incident. Truly one of the memorable moments of Jamboree. I am in awe of Megan's unflappability.

"I loved it. I think all the other attendees enjoyed themselves as well. "
"The format of the Southern California Genealogy Jamboree is a winner"
"I hope to go back next year and "do it again."
"The 2009 Southern California Genealogy Jamboree has already been scheduled for June 12 through 14 at the same location. After all, the construction should be completed long before then! I hope to be there. Will you?"

"...an extremely well-run conference"
"Everyone has a smile on his or her face and each was genuinely concerned with making the event an excellent experience for attendees, speakers and vendors."

"Jamboree: Was It Worth It?...In my calculus, I think the benefits outweighed the costs. It was worth it! "
"And here is one of the nits I have to pick about the conference. The lunch lines were unreasonably long and there were far too few tables at which to sit."
